A couple of months ago, I was at the monthly meeting of Dallas Modern Quilt Guild. During Show and Tell, one of the members -Georgeann – held up a copy of Studios Magazine. I thought “well, that’s something new for Show and Tell”….then she opened up the magazine and showed this:
Let me tell you, it is just a little unnerving to see your own self in a magazine! I had no idea I would be in this issue! This is another part of the My HQ Story selection. I knew that we were all going to be featured in their ads during 2012, but it was still a bit odd to see myself in a magazine. That whole experience was SO amazing, that it is hard to put into words. It would have made me quite content just to get to go to HQ Headquarters and participate in the three day retreat, but it was SO much more than that. I have made friends that I hope to keep for life, learned a ton from the HQ educators and now I am in magazines!
This month, I was in a bookstore leafing through the quilting magazines and there I was again! Still very weird to see yourself in a magazine! I wanted to turn to the other people looking at magazines and say “Hey, look! I’m in a national magazine!” But, I decided they would not share in my excitement, so I bought the magazine and ran home to show G. He is always excited for me!
The first ad in Studios was the picture that G took of me with my machine so I could submit my story for the contest. This ad used pictures that we took at the Handi Quilter headquarters this fall. I’m a little partial to the picture that G took……
So, there you have it. I’m famous. And you knew me when….

I totally want a signed copy
Hey girl, do you get royalties? I hope so. It could support your quilting habit!
It is pretty cool and people will stop you or call out your name at Church. I found out last year when I had my Picture in the McCall’s Issue with their Quilt Design Star Contest. Lucky you to have such a supportive hubby!
Macajo,
We got so many great quilty goodies when we were there for the retreat, that I am set for supporting my quilting habit! Handi Quilter is just an amazing company!
